All opinions are my own.

Boohoo is an online clothing company with offices in NYC, France and Australia.

My honest opinion of Boohoo in summary:

  • They are an affordable, fast fashion brand.
  • They sell trendy pieces that are made of lower quality materials.
  • Construction is not the best quality either.
  • Sizing tends to vary depending on the item.

I don’t typically shop at Boohoo but I saw this champagne satin top that I really liked and decided to place an order along with some other items, just because of the low price point.

Keep in mind that you do need to pay for shipping and return postage if you are in Australia.

I’m not sure about other countries but you should always check for your location this before placing any orders when shopping online.

I ordered 5 items in this Boohoo haul:

All the tops looked fugly af when I tried them on straight out of the package as they were all very creased, which is typical when you shop online.

If you don’t already have one, get yourself a garment steamer. It makes a world of a difference.

Champagne satin top

Beige trousers paired with black strappy heels and Boohoo haul featuring champagne cowl neck satin short sleeve top, chunky gold necklace and leopard print belt.
  • Satin cowl neck short sleeve blouse in champagne, size AU 8 (see FAQ for my measurements for reference)
  • 100% polyester
  • Draped cowl neckline
  • Short sleeve blouse with dolman sleeves
  • Satin material that feels quite nice and is not too shiny or see-through.
  • Colour is accurate to what you see on screen and looks a littler darker on me compared to the model, probably because she is more tanned.
  • I love this top because it looks very expensive for what it is.
  • The only thing I don’t like about it is the hemming on the sleeves aren’t sewn so well but it’s not really noticeable once you steam it.

Black satin shirt

Beige trousers paired with black strappy heels and Boohoo haul featuring black cowl neck satin collared shirt, gold chunky necklace and leopard print belt.
  • Satin cowl neck long sleeve draped blouse in black, size AU 8 (see FAQ for my measurements for reference)
  • 100% polyester
  • Draped cowl neckline with wide neck collar
  • Long sleeve blouse with balloon sleeve detailing at the wrists
  • This satin material feels divine and silky soft. Doesn’t feel cheap at all.
  • Colour is a shade of black that looks very luxe and is not really shiny at all, similar to what you seen on screen.
  • It looks a little blue in my photo due to the lighting and editing but does not actually look blueish in real life.
  • The neckline was way too wide and the cowl neck draped too low on me that I was gaping.
  • But I loved the material of this top so much that I wanted to make it work so I tried to pin the excess fabric up on both sides just under the collar to see if I can still make it work.
  • It looked much better after this little alteration so I replaced the safety pins with a couple small stitches in black thread for a permanent fix.
  • I definitely could have sized down for this top but I’m sure the smaller size wouldn’t have fixed the gaping neck problem. I think this is just a design flaw.

Beige V neck sweater

Beige trousers paired with black strappy heels and Boohoo haul featuring beige V neck off shoulder sweater, chunky gold necklace and leopard print belt.
  • V neck oversized sweater in pebble, size AU XS (see FAQ for my measurements for reference)
  • 100% acrylic
  • Wide V neckline with ribbed detailing
  • Extra long dolman sleeves
  • I’ve been umming and ahhing about this one for the past few days as the fabric is not the nicest but I do really like the cut and fit.
  • It feels cheap and creases easily. Looks much better after a good steaming but still feels plastic-like.
  • The material just looks low quality and you can tell it won’t last long, maybe not even the whole season.
  • Colour is slightly lighter and more washed out compared to on screen.
  • I decided to keep it just because of the low price point but I probably would’ve returned it if Boohoo offered free returns.

Leopard print belt

This belt is featured in all 3 outfits above.

  • Leopard belt with gold buckle (one size)
  • PU material & metal belt fastening
  • Total length is 100cm
  • Fits fine when worn low on my hips but I had to punch extra holes for it to fit my waist which is where I like to wear all my belts.
  • I made extra holes with needles of increasing size. Unlike genuine leather, this was very easy to do and did not require much elbow grease at all.
  • Feels cheap, stiff and the fake fur is pokey but this didn’t bother me as a belt is never worn in contact against my bare skin.
  • Colour is a little more artificial and brighter compared to on screen.
  • It probably won’t last long but is a cute accent piece that is very wearable and versatile.
  • I don’t love it but I don’t hate it either, it’s cute and cheap enough to keep.

Chunky gold necklace

This necklace is featured in all 3 outfits above.

  • Simple curb chain necklace in gold (one size)
  • 100% metal exclusive of trims
  • Total length is 50cm
  • I’ve been looking for a chunky gold necklace for some time now and decided to add this one to the cart because of how cheap it is.
  • I absolutely love this necklace because it is not too chunky but chunky enough for my personal taste.
  • I was surprised to find this piece to be my hands down favourite item from the entire order, ’nuff said.

Winnie likes it too. The little gangsta.

I hope you found this Boohoo haul, try on and review helpful. Would I buy from Boohoo again? Yes I would, but only for certain items.

Satin for example, can be made to look great at a very low price point and when made well.

When it comes to knitted fabrics however, you usually get what you pay for so I probably wouldn’t buy any more sweaters from Boohoo.

If I place another order, I’d definitely look into their jewelry and accessories again.

  1. I have bought in the past from Boohoo. And I think the sizes run very small. But for the price the quality is good. And it often doesn’t disappoint me. For that price.
